A rebuilt engine is one in which the repair is done up to the level of failure. This directly means that the parts replaced are only the ones leading up to the failure for which there was a need of rebuilding; but apart from that, all other components are left intact. The testing procedure of a rebuilt engine depends upon the individual rebuilder from whom you are getting the job done.
